Michelle Chiaramonte MA LCSW
I have maintained a private practice in the Raleigh area since 2007. I was a social worker by training before entering into practice. Social work education is based upon the strong belief that all persons embody strengths and possess the ability to mobilize those strengths and talents to address life challenges. Social work perspectives approach issues holistically considering how clients are impacted by and interact with their environment. In treatment you will obtain a toolkit of coping skills and practical strategies designed to better resolve challenges.
I am originally from the Midwest where my career began as a social worker in community mental health. In Chicago, my experience includes child protective services and outpatient substance use treatment, in addition to working in the homeless community focused on social justice issues such as access to education and affordable housing.
Since relocating to Raleigh in 2004, I have continued to focus on community philanthropy and homelessness, in addition to private practice. I have worked with both NCSU and UNC-CH social work students providing supervision as they complete their practicum internships at both the under graduate and graduate levels.
I have been a featured guest on the podcast, A Year and a Day, focusing on providing educational information on Narcissism and Infidelity.
Most recently I have worked with the Wake County Justice system serving as an expert witness for child sexual abuse cases.
